Cranberry Sauce in Under 30 Minutes
I have been making this sauce for years and it fools people all the time. It tastes like a sauce I cooked all day! Simple with only six ingredients and easy to make!
3 cups cranberry juice (no sugar added)
1 and 1/2 cup dried cranberries
1-2 cinnamon sticks
1 and 1/4 cup cane sugar
2 apples cored and diced
4 teaspoons arrowroot powder
Bring cranberry juice to a boil, add the dried cranberries, cinnamon sticks and sugar. Stir on medium to low heat until the cranberries are plump (about 5-10 minutes).
Stir in diced apples until they are tender and turn red (another 5-10 minutes).
Make a slurry: take out about a 1/2 a cup of the warm juice, place in a bowl and add 4 teaspoons of arrowroot powder and whisk until the powder dissolves.
Add slurry back to pot and bring up to a boil, then reduce heat and stir until thickened.
Remove cinnamon sticks or leave them as decoration.
This sauce is good cold or warm and freezes well!
