DIY Granite Cleaner
This is a simple cleaner recipe that has saved me a lot of time and money. I usually have all the ingredients around the house so I can just make a new bottle whenever we run out. Making this yourself is cheap, easy and toxic-free.
What you will need:
Empty Spray Bottle
Into your empty bottle, pour 1 part alcohol to 3 parts water.
Add about a 1/2 a teaspoon of dish soap (I just usually give it a good squirt).
Add 10-20 drops of the essential oil you have chosen.
Shake before each use.
I usually use a citrus essential oil, because I like the smell and it is a natural insect deterrent but during flu season I sometimes add oregano oil or On Guard. If you use oregano oil be extra careful not to get it on your skin or in your eyes.
This granite cleaner works well and I have been using it on my granite counters for two years now. It keeps it clean and shiny. It also does double duty on stainless steel appliances.
It really is empowering to be able to make your own things. This cleaner doesn't take much time and saves me a trip to the store if we run out. It also feels good to make, because I know what is going into the bottle. Essential oils are an investment. They may seem pricey but when you are only using 10-20 drops per bottle of cleaner, the oil lasts a long time. Your health and the planet's health are worth the investment. Mindfully cleaning your space is a beautiful tribute to yourself.
