Heart Healthy-A Chakra Overview

What if I told you there was a way to have an open heart but feel protected at the same time? To give love freely without being drained ?

Our heart chakra is in the center of our chest and it associated with the color green. All of our chakras work together to help the energetic body. What does that mean? It means that within and around the physical body you have energy that flows. When we suffer trauma physical, emotional or mental our energetic body is also affected. In fact, you may recover on a physical or mental level but still have energy work to do. This energetic body is how both reiki and acupuncture work.

Our heart chakra is easily damaged. We take in a lot of feelings in this space and it can become overwhelmed, heavy or closed off. A balanced heart chakra means we have self-love, feel peaceful, a strong immune system and are empathetic. Any issues we have with love, relationships and balance are associated with this chakra. Currently, we are dealing with world-wide trauma and grief. As I said in my last post, no one is not affected by this change. Even if before this change you felt a light heart and peaceful, you may not feel the same now. Working with this chakra, can only help you feel more at ease through this current upheaval.

A the top of this post, I have supplied a short visualization for you to practice to help keep your heart chakra healthy. It will help you deal with negativity from others. But here are some other things you can do to keep this chakra healthy:


  • Practice positive self-love affirmations such as "I deserve love" or "There is love everywhere, I give love freely and receive it openly."

  • Eat more green plant-based foods.

  • Wear, sleep with or meditate with rose quartz, turquoise or ruby crystals.

  • Diffuse or wear rose or neroli scents.

  • Journaling, especially writing poetry.

  • Volunteering your time or donating money or items to charity.

  • Do acts of self-love no matter how small such as giving yourself time to rest, taking a bath or buying yourself a treat.

  • If you can, cuddle with a pet.

  • Try some heart opening and healing yoga:
